Callvenge

Privacy Policy

What Callvenge collects, why, and where it goes — in plain language, matched to the actual code.

Effective 2026-09-12 · Applies to the Callvenge Android app

01Overview

Callvenge is a call-screening app: it blocks numbers you choose, shows you carrier and line-type information about who's calling, and helps you report unwanted calls to the right consumer-protection agency. It runs entirely on your device — there is no account, no sign-in, and no server holding a copy of your data.

The short version: your call history, block list, and notes stay on your phone. The only information that ever leaves your device is described in full in Section 3 — and even that only happens if you've turned the relevant feature on.

02Information we collect

All of the following is stored locally, in the app's own private database on your device:

03Shared with third parties

Callvenge shares data with exactly three outside parties, each only in the specific situation below:

WhoWhat's sharedWhen
NumVerify (operated by apiLayer) The phone number of a screened call, to look up its carrier and line type Only if a NumVerify API key has been configured for this build — without one, no lookup happens and nothing is sent
Google Play Billing Nothing initiated by Callvenge beyond the purchase itself — Google Play processes the entire transaction Only if you choose to purchase Premium; Callvenge receives a product ID and purchase token, never payment or card details
A consumer-protection agency (FTC, FCC, or your state's agency) Whatever you personally paste and submit on that agency's own website Only if you tap "Report" — Callvenge copies a plain-text summary to your clipboard and opens the agency's own site; it never auto-submits anything on your behalf

Each of these third parties is governed by its own privacy policy for the data you send it, not this one.

04What we don't do

05Storage & security

Everything in Section 2 is stored in a local database inside the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Data only leaves your device in the three specific cases in Section 3, or when you personally use the CSV export feature and choose a destination (email, Drive, etc.) through Android's own share sheet — that choice, and that data, is entirely under your control each time. The one automatic network request Callvenge makes (the NumVerify lookup) is sent over HTTPS.

06Your choices

Because nothing is mirrored to a server, you're always one step away from deleting all of it: clearing Callvenge's storage or uninstalling the app (both in Android's own Settings app) erases every screened call, block-list entry, and note immediately and completely. There's no separate "request my data" or "delete my account" process to go through, because there's no account and no off-device copy to delete.

07Permissions

Permission / roleWhy Callvenge requests it
Call Screening roleLets Callvenge see an incoming number long enough to decide whether to block it — the core feature of the app.
NotificationsTo tell you about a screened call and to send an occasional reminder if you have blocked calls you haven't reported yet.
Internet & network stateTo perform the optional carrier/line-type lookup and to check connectivity before attempting one.

08Children's privacy

Callvenge is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect information from anyone under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).
